Introduction to
Listening Eye

Having run for twenty years and over 850 episodes, Listening Eye is a feature program of PTS designed especially for the hearing-impaired. The hosts, Lianqiao Chen and Xiaoshu Wang, both hearing-impaired, play prominent roles in the development of the program.

What We Do

Listening Eye focuses on current events and interviews of interest to the hearing-impaired, aiming to offer varied information for them and to promote the spirit of social service. “The First Line” stands out among all the units in the program, and it offers the opportunity for the hosts to meet with the hearing-impaired and to give them help. Listening Eye also serves as a platform for the exchange of views on public issues between the deaf and the non-deaf. Recently, to broaden the scope of care for disabled people, “Listening Eye” has transformed to a program for disabled people. Not only for hearing-impaired people to know more about life experience of other disabled people, the program also takes general people into disabled people's world.

Our Vision

The program has been nominated as “The best program of cultural and educational information” and “The best program of public service” of Taiwan Broadcasting Golden Bell Award several times. Host Xiaoshu Wang and Lianqiao Chen have received “The best host of cultural and educational information award” from the Golden Bell Award, which is a substantial testimony to show hearing-impaired people’s ability of art. Moreover, the convenience in line with the Internet has offered viewers a flexible time to enjoy the program simply by entering “Listening Eye” and click on “online broadcasting.” You can watch the program anytime, anywhere in the world. Bright visual designs and broad hearing-impaired information offered on the website of “Listening Eye” makes it a perfect information platform for social welfare groups of Taiwan.
